Collection
In a Collection, content is organized with a taxonomy that
reflects the needs of information users.
Content is referenced in Collections in the form of links to
Master Catalogs or
Logs where the actual content is
stored and organized according to the needs of the person, the Information Manager,
who manages the content.
A Collection can reference content in any practicable number
of Master Catalogs and Logs.
Any practicable number of Collections can draw on any
practicable number of Master Catalogs and Logs.
Event Calendar
An Event Calendars looks like a wall calendar. It's intended
for publication to a website or Intranet. Designed for space-saving, it
presents events that occur once, periodically, or over a span of time.
Import
An import is a Master Catalog, Log or Collection created by
one Information Manager using Taxonomer and sent to one or more other
Taxonomer-using Information Managers somewhere else. They use Taxonomer's import
function to load the incoming Master Catalog, Log or Collection.
Taxonomer places all the incoming knowledge bases in the
Import list where they can be worked on, or reclassified.
Log
A Log resembles a Master Catalog except that the content is
organized by date.
Master Catalog
In a Master Catalog the content is organized to meet the needs
of the Information Manager.
Multi-Axial Classification
Classifying one
thing on more than one classification system. Widely used in healthcare
multi-axial classification in medicine, it sometimes involves
considerable complexity. Taxonomer provides a simplified methodology.
